Well, this week has been a whirlwind!
After Elon shared my photos with a title suggesting they were created by his Grok AI, a bit of a media storm followed. As always, the real story is more nuanced than it first appears. I’m sharing two posts here: one is my response on Reddit, and the other is an article by 404 Media, who did a great job unpacking a complex issue.
My hope is that this sparks a wider discussion about copyright, artistic ownership, and AI use in general (which I’m not opposed to). I feel like we’re standing at the edge of a new era with AI, and like every major revolution before it (agricultural, industrial, digital), there will be winners and losers. The goal, ideally, should be for humanity as a whole to come out ahead. But how we get there? That’s what we need to figure out.
